Wake Competition Hockey Building

Indoor Hockey Rinks for Rec use and Practice facility for Carolina Hurricanes. This facility totals 118,507 SF with 23,334 SF of 2nd floor space. The building houses two hockey rinks with viewing stands, locker rooms, training facilities, office space, a restaurant and pro shop. The building is protected from the elements by a Butler MR-24 Standing Seam room with Thermal Bridging System and 14″ of blanket insulation (R-33).

The walls consist of 2′ thick Thermal Wall Insulated metal panels and a mix of decorative masonry, storefront glass, and architectural panels. The restaurant, pro shop and covered canopy are conventional buildings supplied through Butler (BlueScope Conventional Services).
