After four successful facility completions, the management team at Schunk knew Bobbitt Design Build would deliver quality buildings at a great value for their latest expansion in Morrisville, N.C. Schunk needed additional industrial space at its U.S. headquarters to continue world market leadership in clamping technology and gripping systems. 

The expansion features a 19,000-square-foot manufacturing addition and a new 23,000-square-foot office building, adding to the existing buildings on Schunk’s industrial campus. The project added not only manufacturing space but also more offices to serve a growing staff as well as a customer training facility and product demonstration showroom. The new three-story office, featuring high-tech European details, redefines the company’s facility presence on the site.

Bobbitt was challenged with connecting the office and manufacturing buildings without disrupting ongoing operations. Relocating utilities, services and access while expanding parking were critical aspects of the project.

This new space serves Schunk’s growing needs in a way that significantly improves employee and customer experiences.
